Description

Women in northern India used ring-stones and figurines of bejewelled women in personal rituals to secure fertility and prosperity. A figurine like on displayed in the exhibition, recurs on the inner surface of the ring-stone as Shalabhanjika, a female nature spirit and symbol of abundance.
