Description
For over 1000 years, successive Persian empires impacted the cultures around them.
Few ancient textiles survive. This linen fragment from Egypt shows figures in Persian dress. The star suggests that the central figure was the Persian king. Around 620 CE, the Sasanian Persians conquered Egypt.
