Description
Harappan buildings show remarkable uniformity in brick size with a 4:2:1 ratio in length x breadth x height. The average size of the bricks for houses was – 28 x 14 x 7 cms and for city walls it was 40 x 20 x 10 cms. Bricks were laid in an interlocked pattern where they intersected at right angles, creating strong walls. Water-resistant baked bricks were used for exposed surfaces.
