Description

Two painted dishes mark the continuity of pottery traditions after the decline of the Harappan Civilisation. Both have perforations likely for hanging or attaching them to a large jar. Similar painted pottery is found throughout present-day Pakistan, all the way to the Swat Valley where they mix with local traditions. By this time, the rich network of Harappan trade had already begun to dwindle. One of the dishes show a Blackbuck antelope with trefoil design made of combined circle-and-dot motifs, possibly representing stars.
